Wonkybot, Children’s Podcast Company Behind ‘Tara Tremendous,’ Signs With CAA – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Children’s podcast company Wonkybot has found an agency. The company behind the hit children’s audio series Huge Tara signed with CAA.

The agency will work with the producer to identify and create opportunities in television, film, publishing, brand partnerships and live events, as well as help grow their podcast business.

It comes as Wonkybot is in development on a feature film adaptation of Huge Tara. The project, which the company describes as mean girls meets Spider Manis in development with Marc Platt Productions, led by Cruella, the little mermaid and The Chicago 7 Trial producer Marc Platt. Written by Wonkybot co-founder Stewart St John, the musical centers on popular high school student Tara Callahan, whose status as Queen Bee is compromised after she accidentally gains the powers of every superhero in the world.

Wonkybot was founded by St John, Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta in 2015. It is also behind projects such as teen horror series. Unknown Origins, The Dr. Epicopolis & 1102 Show of Shows and Scary gang.

The company also launched a subscription channel on Apple Podcasts last year.

CAA will also represent the founders individually.
